Biography about my favorite artist
I
have a friend in my Facebook and DeviantArt account. His name is Sigit Dwiky Darmawan, or everyone call him Kirimatsu in his DeviantArt. He is my
favorite artist because of his anime (Japanese cartoon) art-style mix with
realism art-style. I have become his social media friend since 2013. I like his
art with title Lolipop Girl.
He
was born in 23 October 1995, at Surabaya. He has one brother and one sister. He
is the oldest children in his family. His best friend is his childhood friend. He
didn’t have any skill in art when he was in Elementary School and Junior High
School. He always bullied by his friends because he was very fat. But his
parents always supported and encouraged him to be a strong person. He is bad at
science and math, but he likes art lesson.
In his school, he joined art community but his art didn’t as well as other.
Although, his art was bad but he didn’t shame with his talent.
His
friend introduced him about anime and he started to watch an anime when he was
in Senior High School. He inspired to draw an anime since the first he watched
an anime. He also likes to play a game. Every game he tasted one by one. His
favorite games are Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts. He is an ambivert person,
He likes silent situation but he also likes travelling to tourism place with
his friends. His parents supported his hobbies to become an artist and beta
tester of game.
He always practiced his
hobbies everyday, and he always got depressed everytime he failed. But he was
never surrender with the failure. His hobbies has become his daily activities
since that time. He told me that when he was in Senior High School, his friends
always invited him to play soccer game like PES and online game like Dota 2
after they ended school activities. He didn’t like that game but to become a
beta tester he forced himself to learn any game.
His skill increased a
lot and his art became more popular in other nation. Then in 2013 he made a
DeviantArt account. He shared his arts in his gallery art. And after a few
hours, his art got many likes and shares. They wanted to know how he made his
arts and why his arts were very awesome. He didn’t know English very well so
when he replied a fans comment in other nation he always opened Google
Translate to communicate with them.
He made a Facebook
account and shared his experience there. There were many tutorial to make an
art more awesome and he shared it free for all. I also learnt digital art from
his tutorial and it worked on my art. I like his motivational quote like if you want to do something then do it
immediately, if you don’t want to do something then don’t do it. Because it
will spend your energy for useless things.
He gave me an advice to
improve my digital art and never surrender with my passion, because if I lose
my passion then I will lose my hope too. It’s
normal if you get depressed everytime you fail, It makes you stronger with the
failure until you will get succcess, he said that to me. His words inspired
me to learn more and more and his words helped me to release my artblock. So I
am going to draw something after the final exam done and I am going to practice
everyday in the holiday to improve my art skill.
He had a bad memories
about someone request a commision to draw an art. He drew that art in 10 days
but the client said he didn’t request that so he didn’t pay him. But he
remembered that client requested an art with the pose same with his art. He
lost about $30 because the client wanted a full screen with full body and there
were 2 characters in that art. It spent his time and energy to make the artwork
and he done it in 10 days. It was the fastest time for him to make one full
screen of art about 1920 x 768 pixels.
And the worst thing,
the client uploaded his art then cropped his sign and admitted it as his art.
He was very angry because of that accident. So, to avoid that accident he made
a new rules that he created a full black and white sketch then he informed the
client to pay half of the full cost so he could continue to color the art. When
the art done he sent the art via E-mail to the client and the client paid him
the half one of the cost. For example, he done it in 3 days for the sketch
version, the client paid half of the cost, he continued the art and done it in
3 days too, he sent the art, the client paid the half one. So 3 days to work
the sketch and 3 days to work the color version.
He likes cute things,
like cat or anime figure and I think it’s normal if you like something. He
hates someone steal his art, for example when someone created a post and admitted
it as his or her art or someone created a post as a random post then he or she
erased his sign or cropped his sign. He said that a crime and against our law
for copyright someone masterpiece.
Now,
he is majoring Visual Communication Design at STIKOM Surabaya. Beside that, he
is an illustrator in DeviantArt and he is also an official beta tester in every
game. He have a dream that someday he will earn money from drawing and game it’s
same with my dream too. I wish my art become more awesome like his art and also
I wish I can earn money from review or play a game in game tournament.
